Solar panels are sprouting up across north Wales. Local authorities have discovered they can save money by erecting the panels on their property stock. Wrexham County Borough Council has pledged £60m to power 3,000 houses with the sun. It’s claimed energy bills will be cut on average by

Allbrite will make your Solar PV Installation Work after December 2011

In light of the recently announced proposed reduction in the pay back from the government 'Feed-in Tariff' scheme we remain committed to ensuring that our customers will still benefit from the best possible return on investment for all solar pv installations completed after 12th December 2011.

Under the proposals, the new tariffs would apply to all new solar PV installations with an eligibility date on or after 12 December 2011. Such installations would receive the current tariff before moving to the lower tariffs on 1 April 2012. Consumers who already receive a FIT will see their existing payments unchanged, and those with an eligibility date on or before 11 December 2011 will receive the current rate.

The extent of the tariff changes are illustrated below;

Band (kW)
Current generation tariff (p/kWh)
Proposed generation tariff (p/kWh)
≤4kW (new build)
37.8p
21p
≤4kW (retrofit)
43.3p
21p
>4-10kW
37.8p
16.8p

This only applies when fitted by an accredited MCS installer such as Allbrite.

Because we buy and import our panels directly from the manufacturer we can offer the most competitive rates of any solar pv installation company.

A typical example based on a 4kW array under the proposed new tariff would have a typical payback period of approximately 15 years, whereas Allbrite are able to offer the same size array with a payback of just 10 years, with the added benefit of free electricity, as before this will be guaranteed for a period of 25 years.

Although not as attractive as the current tariff the new tariff is still a feasible opportunity to generate an income and reduce your carbon foot print.

Over the next few months we can expect many of the lesser established solar pv installation companies to suffer, whereas Allbrite, who have been pioneering renewable energy solutions for over 10 years don't rely solely on Solar PV with a portfolio including biomass, LED lighting, underfloor heating, solar hot water and electric vehicles.

The reduction in the tariff has largely been put into place to control government spending on feed in tariffs as ultimately everyone pays for the tariff through their electricity bills.
