Carpet Underfloor Heating
When installing under floor heating with carpet there are a couple of options, the easiest being flat ribbon under floor heating as it can be installed directly underneath the carpet underlay.
The carbon film under floor heating system can also be used however it will require an overboard to be placed over the top of the heating elements.
Although it is also possible to use cable mat under floor heating under carpet it is not recommended by Allbrite as the mat would need to be buried into 35mm of screed to enable the heat to be disbursed and distributed more evenly.
When installing carpet with under floor heating it is important that the combined tog rating of the carpet and carpet underlay does not exceed 2.5 tog, this is to ensure the heat is allowed through your floor and into the room easily.
Allbrite's carpet underlay is only 0.8 of a tog making it a perfect choice for use with under floor heating.
When installing carbon under floor heating under carpet, Heat-Pak overlay board must be used to protect the elements and to give a flat and even surface.
Heat-Pak is a double layer HDF board that bonds together to create a totally flat subfloor area, Heat-pak has a very low thermal resistance of only 0.4 of a tog.
