The installation of solar photovoltaic panels with a non standard layout is sited in Bagillt, near Holywell North Wales.
The customer required a maximum sized solar PV array to be installed where it would not suffer from over shading from nearby trees to the rear of the property. Due to the age of the electrical distribution board either a replacement was required or a mini distribution board alongside the existing one. As part of the service Allbrite decided to change the distribution board for a new 17th edition 14 way distribution board and carried out a full electrical inspection of the property.
Although access looked reasonably easy it was important that Allbrite took care not to lay the scaffolding on top of fruit bearing shrubs and bushes as well as some vegetable plots.
Allbrite used their own roof access system which reduced the need for excessive foot traffic and scaffold but still gave the security of a full working platform enabling the solar PV panels to be installed with relative ease.
Allbrite used more than average roof anchors as the dwelling was in a high wind area, this would help spread the load as well as ensure the solar panels would not be disturbed in high winds. The solar PV panels were attached to aluminium base rails meaning that the total installation is corrosion resistant and light weight.
It was commented by the customer that the installation was carried out in a quick and efficient manor, the areas where the installers worked remained clean and tidy and they left the property in excellent condition.
