Kids help power solar panels

Two Primary schools in Worcestershire have become energy suppliers after getting solar panels on their roofs – paid for by the local county council.

They’ve been installed under the Spend-to-Save scheme which offers interest-free loans to fund energy saving measures with no capital investment.

The free electricity generated by the panels will be used by the schools and any surplus is sold to the National Grid.

Pupils at the schools are helping to monitor their electricity consumption.
